How prize splits work for syndicates and pools
When a group wins, any tax is settled first and the net is shared by your shares (or your contribution). Lottofy never takes a slice of the split.
Net first, split second
When a syndicate or pool wins a prize that carries a withholding (Spanish operators, US lotteries, etc.), the operator withholds tax at source before the money reaches Lottofy. The amount we then split between members is the net.
For lottery bets, where Lottofy itself pays the prize, the same logic applies: any duties paid by us are settled before the prize is distributed.
Syndicates
Your slice of a syndicate prize is:
- Net prize received by the syndicate
- × (your shares ÷ total shares of the syndicate)
- = credited to your balance
Example, 100 shares total, you hold 10, net prize €50,000. You receive €5,000.
Pools
Your slice of a pool prize is:
- Net prize received by the pool
- × (your contribution ÷ total pot)
- = credited to your balance
Every payout receipt shows the gross, the withholding, the net and the share or contribution we used to compute your slice. Nothing is hidden.
