Why we verify your identity
Identity verification keeps your account, your money and your winnings safe, and it's a hard requirement under our MGA licence.
What identity verification is for
Identity verification (often called KYC. Know Your Customer) does four things at once:
- Confirms you are the real person playing, so winnings can only be paid to you.
- Confirms you are over 18, gambling under-18 is illegal in every jurisdiction we serve.
- Helps prevent account takeover and impersonation, a verified account is much harder to hijack.
- Keeps Lottofy compliant with anti-money-laundering rules and the MGA's licensing conditions.
Our regulator
Lottofy operates under licence from the Malta Gaming Authority. The MGA requires every operator to identify the players it serves and to escalate identity and source-of-funds checks at defined thresholds, typically starting at cumulative deposits of €2,000.
Only our trained verification team and our regulated identity-technology partner have access to your documents. They are never shared with any other player or third party.
Once you're verified
Once verified, your account is marked as such. You can deposit, play, claim prizes and withdraw without extra friction. We only return to ID checks if regulation requires it, for example, before paying out a major prize, or when activity changes in a way that triggers a fresh review.
