The €120 million Eurojackpot lottery prize had no winners in last Tuesday's draw, so it will be drawn again on Friday, June 23.
This is the second time in the history of the famous European lottery that the jackpot limit, which is set at 120 million euros, has been reached. Previously, this historic figure had only been reached in the draw on July 22, 2022, when a single player from Denmark scooped the entire prize.

Although many players across Europe were anxiously waiting to find out if there would be a new multi-millionaire in Tuesday's draw, none of the tickets sold matched the 5 main numbers plus the 2 additional numbers (called soles) needed to win the jackpot.

The question that arises for many players is what happens to the money accumulated for the next draws if the jackpot value does not increase. This is where the Eurojackpot draw gets interesting so... read on to find out all about it!

How does Eurojackpot work?

The Eurojackpot is a European lottery that takes place twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:00 p.m. Helsinki time, where the draws are held. This game is available in 18 European countries and offers a cumulative prize that can grow up to 120 million euros.

To participate in the Eurojackpot, it is necessary to choose 5 main numbers from the range 1 to 50, as well as 2 suns from the range 1 to 12. If you manage to match the 5 main numbers and the 2 suns during the draw, you will win the jackpot. However, even if you don't match all the numbers, you still have the chance to win smaller prizes depending on the number of numbers matched.

Depending on the number of numbers matched, you can win prizes in a total of 12 levels. For example, just by matching 2 numbers and 1 sun, you can secure the last prize. Considering all prize categories, the odds of winning a prize in the Eurojackpot are 1 in 32, which means that your chances of success are considerably high compared to other lotteries.

What happens once the Eurojackpot limit is reached?

Every time someone wins the first prize, Eurojackpot starts again with a guaranteed minimum prize of 10 million euros. As the draws go on, if there is no winner the prize keeps accumulating by adding up the amount collected for the next draw, so it can grow draw by draw.

However, as it happens with the other European lottery Euromillions, the Eurojackpot jackpot has a maximum limit of 120 million euros. Once it reaches this figure, it cannot grow any further.

But what happens if no one hits the €120 million jackpot? This is where the Eurojackpot lottery becomes more attractive to players. If after the first draw after reaching the limit, no one matches the numbers needed to win the first prize, all the money collected for the next draw, which would normally be added to the jackpot, is distributed among the following prize categories.

Therefore, the secondary prizes get bigger and bigger as the draws go on without someone hitting the jackpot. This is very interesting for lottery players, as it increases the chances of winning big millionaire prizes without the need to match all the numbers.

Tips to improve your chances of winning the Eurojackpot prize

Smart Number Selection

Some players believe that choosing certain numbers can increase their chances of winning the Eurojackpot. Some of the most recommended strategies include: not playing consecutive numbers; alternating odd and even numbers, as well as high and low numbers; avoiding using very common combinations that will increase the odds of sharing the prize; etc.

Increase your odds by buying more tickets

The logic of this strategy is very simple: by increasing the number of number combinations, you increase your odds of hitting the winning combination. However, it is vital to keep in mind that this also means spending more on the lottery, so it is crucial to play responsibly and not invest more than you can afford to lose.

Join lottery groups

If you want to buy multiple tickets, but are on a tighter budget, then groups or syndicates are the best option. Lottery syndicates are groups of people who buy tickets together and share the prizes won. Participating in a syndicate gives you the opportunity to have more number combinations in play without spending as much money as you would by buying all the tickets by yourself. However, keep in mind that the prizes will be divided among the members of the group, which means that the individual prizes will be smaller.
