Last week we told you a little more about the Christmas Lottery, the most popular lottery in Spain, which will be held as every year this Friday, December 22. And, among all its peculiarities, we especially highlighted the amount of prizes it offers: this year, a total of 2,590,000,000 euros will be distributed among some 28,312,400 prizes at stake. A real madness! For years now, no lottery in the world has been able to compare with the great expectation generated by the long-awaited Christmas lottery.

But what are all those prizes, how much money can I win with each one, can I win more than one prize at a time? In today's post we will clear all these doubts and tell you about all the prizes of the 2023 Christmas Lottery draw.

Christmas Lottery Prizes

This year will be one of the years with the largest amount of prizes destined to the Christmas lottery, also known as the Gordo de Navidad because of its first prize. In total there will be 2,590,000,000 euros in prizes, distributed in a total of 28,312,400 prizes.
Among all these prizes, the most coveted will undoubtedly be the desired Christmas Gordo, the first prize that will consist of 400,000 euros for each tenth that matches the winning number.

We remind that, in the Christmas Lottery, each of the numbers participating in the draw, which can range from 00000 to 99999, are divided into series of 10 tenths. In turn, a total of 185 series of 10 tenths per number are issued, so that each number is divided into 185 series of 10 tenths. This is what makes possible the existence of so many prizes in the Christmas Lottery, since each one of the 185 series of numbers receives a total of 15,304 prizes multiplied in turn by each one of the 10 tenths.

Going back to the main prizes, besides the Christmas Gordo, the other most coveted prizes are the second prize of 125,000 euros per tenth and the third prize of 50,000 euros per tenth. In addition, there will be 2 fourth prizes of 20,000 euros per tenth each and 8 fifth prizes of 6,000 euros per tenth.

In addition, there will be multiple prizes for approximations to the winning numbers (the numbers before and after the winning number, for example, if the winner is 56821, both 56820 and 56822 receive prizes for approximations) and for terminations (matching the last digits of the winning number, for example, if the winning number ends in 85, all numbers ending in 85 receive prizes for terminations).

The famous reintegros, are all the numbers whose last digit coincides with the winning number, which receive a prize almost equal to the amount paid for a tenth, hence the name reintegro. And finally, the pedreas are special prizes of 100 euros per tenth that are drawn to different numbers throughout the draw.

Let's see then the total list of prizes for each of the 185 series of numbers:

Can I win more than one prize at a time?

This is a frequent doubt about Christmas Lottery prizes. The answer is yes, it is possible that the same number coincides in different prize categories, so if you win more than one prize, they are added together. Let's see an example:

It is possible that my tenth has received a prize of 100 euros for pedrea and that, in addition, its last 3 digits coincide with the last 3 digits of the winning number of the first prize. In this case, in addition to the 100 euros of the pedrea, another 2,000 euros will be added to the prize by approximation, being entitled in total to a prize of 2,100 euros for my tenth.

What happens if I have bought more than one tenth of the same number?

We said that each number is divided into 10 tenths, which can be considered as fractions of the number. When buying a tenth to participate in the draw, there is the option of buying from 1 to 10 tenths of the same number.

Why buy more tickets of the same number? Because if the number wins, we will multiply the prize according to the number of tickets we have bought. If I have 2 tickets of the same number, and this one wins the first prize, instead of one prize of 400,000 euros, I will have two prizes that will add up to 800,000 euros.

What are the participations of a tenth?

It is an exclusive Lottofy's modality. The Christmas Lottery is one of the most famous and popular lotteries in the world, and it is true that its prize ratio is incomparable, but this is exactly what makes it more expensive compared to other lotteries.

A participation is a part of the tenth. This game modality allows to divide the tenth in 4 parts. I can buy from 1 to 4 participations (which would be a whole tenth). Of course, if the number wins, you should know that you will receive the proportional part of the prize according to the number of shares you have bought (if you have bought only one share, you will receive a quarter of the prize corresponding to that tenth).

We hope we have helped to solve your doubts about the Christmas Lottery prizes. If you want to participate in one of the most beloved lotteries in the world, remember to buy your ticket before the closing time of the drawing, which will take place on Friday, December 22nd at 9am (Spanish time). Good luck and happy holidays!
